I can’t think of a better place. How will you route the discharge?
Hi Tony,
I had not out any thought in to that.
There is currently a manual pump installed at the moment, I guess I could just ‘T’ in to that outlet?
I fitted one just aft of my engine but I fitted it at an upward angle such that the the pump suction is at the lowest point. This means that the sensor in the other end of the unit is higher up and as such will switch off the pump before it pumps out the usual small slick of oil drips from the engine.
Should say that the Whale Supersub is the best automatic pump system I have used.
I’m about to fit a pump to my Centaur as well. I had thought of putting it under the engine (new, not yet fitted) but how would I get at it to clean/service it? If I put it abaft the engine it won’t be at the lowest point. Ideas??
I use a Whale gulper as my primary bilge pump. This allows me to place the pipe at the lowest point, whilst keeping the actual pump in a more accessible location.
